Bali Democracy Forum

Deputy Foreign Minister Ebrahim Rahimpour says extremism, violence, and cruel economic sanctions against nations hinder political development and establishment of democracy.
Rahimpour made the remarks in his speech at the 7th Bali Democracy Forum which opened on Friday in Indonesia.
The two-day event is being held to discuss reinforcing regional and international cooperation on peace and democracy.  The high-level annual forum was founded by Indonesia in 2008 with the aim of promoting democracy in the Asia-Pacific region.
