Former vice president Mohammad Reza Aref told Fars News Agency he believes reformists should first map out their strategy for the Feb. 26, 2016 Majlis poll, noting that it is soon to name specific candidates. Asked about the Rouhani administration's possible backing for reformists in the election, the pro-reform politician said the government is tasked with holding the vote and is not allowed to "intervene" in the election, but the people who supported Rouhani in the 2013 presidential election seem to be "leaning" toward reformists.
