The chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission described the West’s silence on the killing of innocent Yemeni people as “surprising” and “regrettable”. Lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi made the remark in a meeting with the outgoing Danish ambassador, Anders Christian Hougaard, in Tehran on Wednesday, ISNA reported. Referring to the Saudi-led military campaign against Yemen, he said Riyadh has committed a “great and strategic error” by attacking the impoverished Arab country and the United States and its western allies are making the same mistake they made in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
