Russia’s Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin said on Monday the UN Security Council has confirmed Iran’s right to develop a nuclear program for peaceful purposes, Russian News Agency TASS reported.
“Today the UN Security Council has confirmed Iran’s inalienable right for developing a peaceful nuclear program, including enriching uranium under IAEA’s (International Atomic Energy Agency) comprehensive control. The resolution (adopted by the UNSC to endorse the Iran nuclear deal) guarantees lifting sanctions pressure from Iran in the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action by a transparent and clear mechanism,” Churkin said.
