Members of the parliamentary majority group, the Principlist Followers of Velayat Faction, issued a statement on the recent nuclear settlement with major powers praising the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for his guidelines which helped achieve the major breakthrough.

"After 12 years of negotiations with the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany), reaching a nuclear accord following intensive rounds of talks testifies that thanks to the wise guidelines of the Leader and efforts by the government and the negotiating team, the great Iranian nation managed to pass through this critical and historical stage with endurance and strength without giving in to any threats."

The statement said the international community has now come to recognize Iran's right to access nuclear knowledge for peaceful purposes, acknowledging the capabilities of the country in this respect, ICANA reported.

It hailed the role of the negotiating diplomats, citing their efforts to preserve the invaluable achievements of Iranian experts and scholars in such a critical juncture by using their diplomatic capabilities in the negotiations front.

Pointing to the plots of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution, the legislators said reaching a "win-win accord" became possible only through following the instructions of the Leader who set the right path for engaging in the talks, outlined the red lines, and lent his support to the negotiating team.

They commemorated the nuclear scientists who were martyred in assassinations planned by foreign intelligence services, hailing their years-long efforts to advance the nuclear program.

"The proper implementation … of the agreement by the other negotiating side will undoubtedly make this significant diplomatic achievement even sweeter."

Congratulating the Leader, the government, the families of the nuclear martyrs, the negotiating team and the parliamentarians on the nuclear deal with world powers, the statement reiterated the call for preserving the key nuclear achievements during the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action - the official name of the nuclear accord.

The Principlists expressed hope that the current Iranian year (started March 22) named by the Leader the year of "Government and Nation; Harmony and Unanimity" would see a new chapter of increased interaction between the government and parliament to help address economic problems and bring prosperity.
