European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said the nuclear deal between Iran and major powers presents “a model” to address other global issues. In a Sunday interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa, the top EU negotiator in the Iran nuclear talks said the agreement is “a model to resolve other crises.”  On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 (the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany) reached a conclusion on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in Vienna. Mogherini described the deal as a demonstration of “what the European Union can do.” The nuclear settlement with Iran is an important investment for restoration of peace and tranquility, Mogherini said, adding that with the help of this diplomatic breakthrough it is possible to work for a new beginning in the Middle East and Asia Minor. The nuclear talks also gave the EU a chance to sit at the negotiating table with Russia, she added.
