Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei thanked the nuclear negotiators for their "diligent" and "sincere" efforts in talks with major powers, which culminated in a nuclear deal on Tuesday.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remark in a meeting with President Hassan Rouhani and cabinet members in Tehran on Tuesday, coinciding with the 27th of the holy month of Ramadan, according to the official website of the Leader.

He pointed to the historic letter of Imam Ali (AS) to Malik al-Ashtar advising him how to deal with the people under his rule, stating that "loving the people from the bottom of heart" and "showing affection and tolerance toward them" were among Imam Ali's instructions.

Prior to the Leader's speech, President Rouhani thanked Ayatollah Khamenei for his guidelines and support for the government and the nuclear negotiating team, expressing hope that the nuclear settlement would mark the end of the pressure campaign and spurious allegations against the Islamic Republic and herald new steps on the road to the country's progress.
