A member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told Fars news agency on Tuesday the Supreme National Security Council will review the nuclear agreement between Iran and major powers.
“The conclusions of the negotiations will be presented to top-level bodies in Iran and the United States. The examination of the conclusions by the US Congress will be carried out in up to 72 days, and the review period in the Supreme National Security Council will be shorter,” Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said. He explained that the process of reviewing the agreement in the US will take 60 to 72 days, considering the possibility that Congress disapproves the deal and US President Barack Obama vetoes the decision. According to the relevant parliamentary legislation, in Iran the deal will be referred to the SNSC for review, he said, adding, “The Majlis will also perform its legal duties in this regard.”
