Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that nuclear talks with the major powers have developed in a way that Europe can play a “serious” and “prominent” role to “strike a balance” between the negotiating parties. Playing such a role will enhance the position of Europe in the world, he commented. Zarif made the remarks on Monday in his speech at the joint meeting of Iranian foreign policy and international relations experts and members of the European Council on Foreign Relations at the foreign ministry’s Institute for Political and International Studies, IRNA reported. Elsewhere, the foreign minister said the only way to resolve the “manufactured crisis” over Tehran’s nuclear program is to strike a final nuclear deal through negotiation because Iran’s nuclear capabilities cannot be restricted due to the fact that the country has gained nuclear know-how.
