Iran and the major powers have achieved significant progress in the ongoing nuclear talks in Vienna, a source close to the negotiations told Sputnik on Sunday. “The negotiations have achieved a significant progress,” the source said, adding that the much-anticipated agreement between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) is expected to be titled “a comprehensive plan for joint action.” Iran and the major powers are now discussing the possibility of issuing a UN Security Council statement immediately after reaching a nuclear deal, another source close to the talks told Sputnik. “One of the sticking points now is whether at least a UNSC statement, not a resolution, will be issued immediately after the deal is reached.”
