The Ecuadorian parliament speaker has said Quito is keen to increase its cooperation with Tehran in all areas.
Gabriela Rivadeneira made the remarks in a recent meeting with visiting MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
Meetings between the two countries’ officials will pave the way for expansion of bilateral relations, she said. In addition, she said Ecuador is building a “knowledge-based park” and is eager to collaborate with Iran on advanced technologies and production of pharmaceuticals. Boroujerdi, chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said it is the Islamic Republic’s policy to increase cooperation with Latin American countries, especially Ecuador. He called for enhanced relations and cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
