Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian expressed pleasure with the reopening of Iranian and Moroccan embassies in the two countries, calling for expansion of political and economic relations between Tehran and Rabat, IRNA reported. The Foreign Ministry official made the remarks in a phone conversation with Moroccan Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mbarka Bouaida on Tuesday, in which the two sides underlined the need to step up efforts to boost the level of bilateral relations in all areas. Iran has appointed Mohammad Taqi Moayyed, a career diplomat who had previously served in Tunisia, the Netherlands and Greece, as new ambassador to Morocco. He submitted his credentials to Morocco’s King Mohammed VI last week.
