Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on international affairs told reporters on Saturday whenever Iran has stood up for its rights in dealings with world powers, it has ultimately emerged as the winner. Ali Akbar Velayati made the remark in reference to the ongoing talks between Iran and major powers on a final deal to resolve the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program, IRNA reported. “Whenever we have defended our rights vigorously and explicitly and have not compromised them, we have managed to finally come out victorious.” The former foreign minister said the Islamic Republic wants to continue its nuclear activities within the framework of international law and does not give in to excessive demands by major powers.
