Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian told IRNA on Friday the “common policy” of Iran and Russia to support the Syrian government has not changed. “Tehran and Moscow will continue their effective support for Syria in the campaign against terrorism,” he said. “Terrorists have not been allowed to topple Syria’s political system and its legal president and turn Syria into a new Libya.” In addition, Amir Abdollahian said Beijing’s stance on Syria is similar to those of Iran and Russia, noting, “Tehran, Beijing and Russia seek lasting stability and security in the (Middle East) region.”
