In an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday, US Senator Bob Corker, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, called US demands for “anytime, anywhere” inspections and clarification of Iran’s past nuclear research “non-negotiable” in talks between Iran and the major powers on a final nuclear deal, urging the Obama administration to be prepared to suspend talks unless Iran agrees.
“If they are trying to cross these two remaining red lines… I do think we should…step away from the table and make sure that we end up with a deal that will stand the test of time. We already have so many weaknesses in it today.”
Iran denies the allegation that it may have conducted nuclear weapons-related research in the past and has ruled out inspection of its military sites under any accord.
