In separate messages to leaders of Muslim countries on Friday, President Hassan Rouhani congratulated on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.
Describing Ramadan as a month of “mercy, peace, brotherly relations and friendship,” Rouhani said, “I hope in this auspicious month, we all rely on Islamic teachings to see unity and friendship strengthened and security and calm increased for the Islamic Ummah more than ever.”
He appealed to Muslim countries to show more cooperation to help boost unity and promote brotherly ties in the Muslim world, which is facing “serious challenges,” including growing terrorism, violence and extremism and attempts to sow discord among Muslims, IRNA reported.
