The deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs reiterated Iran's stance on Yemen in his speech at an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the Yemen crisis at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah on Tuesday.

"The use of military aggression to address Yemen's political crisis is an error which will lead to nothing but further expansion of extremism and terrorism and deterioration of security in our shared region," Hossein Amir Abdollahian was quoted by IRNA as saying in the meeting.

He was referring to the Saudi-led airstrike campaign in Yemen.

Underlining the need for an immediate end to the Saudi coalition's blockade of Yemen, which has been interfering with efforts to deliver humanitarian relief to the war-hit Yemeni people, he stressed that Iran favors diplomacy and inclusive Yemeni dialogue as the only way to effectively resolve the crisis.
