The deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs told Fars news agency on Tuesday Iran’s policy on Syria has not changed, stressing that Tehran will continue backing the Damascus government. “The Islamic Republic’s support for Syria’s campaign against terrorism is based on a strategic approach and is not a tactical move,” he said.  He said continuing to use “wrong military and security means on Syria is a strategic error and violates the Syrian people’s rights.” In addition, he noted that Iran backs the involvement of the opposition groups that believe in a political solution to the Syrian crisis in “inclusive national dialogue.”
