The deputy interior minister for political affairs said on Sunday all officials seek the highest possible turnout in the Feb. 26, 2016 parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections, IRNA reported. Mohammad Hossein Moqimi, who was talking to reporters after the two-day meeting of governors at the interior ministry which focused on the conduct of the elections, said, “The outcome of the meeting… was all officials’ emphasis on holding enthusiastic elections and securing maximum turnout.” The head of the election headquarters added that the high-ranking officials who addressed the meeting stressed that all government organizations and directors should “observe the principle of impartiality.”
