Lawmaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel said the nuclear talks with the major powers have reached “a critical stage”, voicing concern over the approach adopted by the western parties. “We are concerned about the other side’s behavior and in this gathering we announce our concern and our distrust of the United States,” the former parliament speaker said in his address to a gathering of seminary teachers and students in Qom on Saturday, IRNA reported. Over the past decades, the US has spared no effort to undermine Iran, he said, adding, “Issuing cruel resolutions against the country through influencing international organizations and imposing cruel sanctions are only part of this country’s crimes.” The government, the people and the nuclear negotiating team should be aware of the fact that the US has never honored its commitments to Iran, he said.
