Tehran, Berlin Trade Partners

The German ambassador to Tehran has said that Iran is a major trading partner for Germany and can play a crucial role in the future of the region and international issues.
Michael von Ungern-Sternberg said with its great economic and cultural potential, "Tehran is regarded as a key partner for us," ISNA reported.
He added that the relations between Tehran and Berlin have expanded considerably since the new government took office last year and expressed hope for further strengthening of ties.
The German envoy made the remarks on Tuesday during a ceremony held in Tehran to mark Germany's unity day. The Day of German Unity (also known as Tag der Deutschen Einheit) is the national day of Germany. It is celebrated every year on the third of October as a public holiday. It commemorates the anniversary of German reunification in 1990, when the communist German Democratic Republic joined Federal Republic of Germany to form a united nation.
