In a message issued on Wednesday, President Hassan Rouhani extended congratulations to the Cameroonian nation and President Paul Biya on the occasion of National Day of the Central African nation. Rouhani also expressed hope that political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries would be further expanded. National Day is a holiday in Cameroon celebrated on May 20. On May 20, 1972, in a national referendum Cameroonians voted for a unitary state as opposed to the existing federal state.
