The head of the Principlist Followers of Velayat Faction, which is the majority group in parliament, told IRNA on Saturday that members of the faction are holding discussions on the election of the Majlis presiding board scheduled to be held later this month.
“We are holding consultations and talks with our friends in the Followers of Velayat Faction to take proper measures for the election of the presiding board,” lawmaker Kazem Jalali said.
“The measures in the faction are taken based on collective moves, meaning that the members and the general assembly of the faction decide together what to do.”
He added that any lawmaker that is interested to stand as the faction’s candidate for the election needs to win the majority of the votes by the members.
