Iraqi President Fuad Masum is scheduled to visit Iran on May 12, ISNA reported. The two-day visit is upon the official invitation of President Hassan Rouhani. During the meeting, the two sides will exchange views on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest and concern. Among other notable diplomatic meetings between the senior officials of the two countries this month is the Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Adil Fahd al-Sharshab’s tour of Iran on May 19. Iraqi Culture Minister Faryad Rawanduzi is also due on Tuesday upon the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Ali Jannati. The main aim of Rawanduzi’s trip is to attend the opening ceremony of the Tehran International Book Fair (May 6-16). Iraq will also host Iranian Defense Minister Hussein Dehghan and Minister of Labor Ali Rabiei, who are scheduled to meet officials of the neighboring Arab country.
