The Kremlin underlined its role in the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the six major powers, including Russia, over Tehran’s nuclear program, describing the April 2 agreement in Lausanne on the outline of a final nuclear deal as a “huge breakthrough”.

Asked during an interview with the Russia Today (RT) television  whether or not there will be closer interaction between Moscow and the West any time soon, Kremlin Chief of Staff Sergei Ivanov said his government has already played “an active role” in tackling some global issues

“Iran is a good example,” Ivanov said. “The Lausanne agreement on the Iranian nuclear program is a huge breakthrough.” Iran and its international negotiating partners now have until June 30 to finalize the details of the prospective accord.
