Sistan and Baluchestan Governor Ali Osat Hashemi thanked Pakistan for its efforts to deal with terrorists and criminals operating along the joint border, IRNA reported.
In a meeting with a Pakistani delegation on Tuesday, he said, “The recent move by Pakistan to arrest criminal Salam Rigi (a leader of the so-called Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) terrorist group) and the cooperation between Iranian and Pakistani border guards in carrying out simultaneous operations against those who jeopardize the security of the two countries are praiseworthy.”
He added, “Our resolve to confront criminals and terrorists is to such an extent that we are able to purge the region of those who undermine security through cooperating with Pakistani officials to deal heavy blows to them.”
