The ambassador to Jordan and the chairman of the foreign policy committee in the lower house of the Jordanian parliament explored ways of improving bilateral ties in a recent meeting, ISNA reported on Monday.

Ambassador Mojtaba Ferdosipour called for expansion of parliamentary cooperation and promotion of mutual understanding and interaction through developing "parliamentary dialogue."

Ferdosipour also explained Iran's stance on regional developments, especially regarding the situation in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

Bassam Al-Manasir, for his part, congratulated Iran for reaching an initial nuclear agreement with the major powers in the Swiss city of Lausanne early this month and voiced support for Iran's nuclear program. He also underlined the need to improve parliamentary relations and the necessity of holding consultations in an effort to address regional crises.

The two officials described terrorism, extremism and tribalism as the major threats to the region and called for measures to help eradicate them.
