The deputy foreign minister expressed Iran's willingness to boost interaction with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which is a successful regional organization.
Morteza Sarmadi made the remarks in a meeting with his visiting Singaporean counterpart Albert Chua on Sunday, IRNA reported.
Describing the state of bilateral relations between Iran and Singapore as "positive", the Iranian diplomat said the two sides are expected to make efforts to help improve commercial ties through identifying new areas for cooperation.
The Singaporean deputy foreign minister, in turn, said his country greatly respects Iran for its civilization that has its roots in an "ancient culture".
Expressing pleasure with the process of nuclear talks between Iran and the major powers, Chua hoped for the return of bilateral commercial transactions to pre-sanctions levels.
"We hope the stage would be set for the presence of Singaporean companies in Iran."
