The defense minister is scheduled to travel to Iraq next Iranian calendar month starting May 22, Fars news agency reported on Monday. Lieutenant General Hossein Dehqan will meet Iraqi officials to discuss bilateral ties and the campaign against the so-called Islamic State (IS) militant group. Iran is backing Iraq in its fight against the terrorists by providing military advice and training.
