MPs issued a statement on Sunday thanking President Hassan Rouhani for defending the nation's rights, particularly the right to access nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, at the UN General Assembly in New York. The lawmakers also denounced as "insulting" and "interventionist" British Prime Minister David Cameron's remarks in his address to the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, in which he said Tehran and London have severe disagreements on Iran’s alleged support for terrorist organizations, its nuclear program, and its treatment of its people.
