Need for Unity Gov’t in Yemen

In a phone conversation with Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek on Thursday, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Iran believes the Yemeni crisis can be resolved only by holding national dialogue and forming “a national unity government,” IRNA reported. He described the Saudi air campaign in Yemen which killed civilians and destroyed the impoverished country’s infrastructures as “a strategic mistake” and said such moves produce no results and only undermine the Muslim world and “jeopardize peace and stability in the region.” The Turkish official, for his part, said Ankara backs the resolution of the conflict through political means.
