The chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said on Monday parliament is closely monitoring the moves of the US administration and Congress regarding the talks with the major powers on a final nuclear deal.
Referring to the bill recently approved by the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee which would require the US administration to submit a final agreement to Congress for review and approval, lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi told ICANA that parliament will take appropriate action in response to any possible move by the US lawmakers to weigh in on a final nuclear accord.
“A bill calling for parliamentary oversight of the nuclear agreement has been prepared in the Majlis, and if the US Congress intervenes in the negotiations, the Majlis will employ the required lever to enter the scene.”
