Bilateral relations in political, parliamentary and economic areas and regional challenges, particularly the escalating conflict in Yemen, were discussed in meetings between an Iranian parliamentary delegation and top-level Kuwaiti officials during a recent visit by the lawmakers to the Persian Gulf Arab state, the head of the Iran-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group told IRNA on Friday.
Lawmaker Seyyed Razi Nouri also said areas of for increased cooperation, including efforts to secure the return of Iranian nationals held in Kuwaiti prisons, were also reviewed during the consultations.
He added that Kuwaiti officials welcomed efforts to help improve cooperation between the two countries and stressed that the two sides should try to make up for the low level of ties in recent years.
