The deputy commander of the navy told IRNA on Wednesday that a new domestically manufactured submarine, named the Fateh, is undergoing final tests before becoming operational. Rear Admiral Gholamreza Bigham said, "The process of manufacturing the Fateh submarine has been completed and it has been delivered to the defense ministry," adding, "After undergoing the main tests in the factory, at the docks, and on the sea, the submarine will join the fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran's navy."
