Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi, who appeared before parliament on Tuesday for questioning, failed to provide convincing explanations.
Vaezi went to parliament to answer questions posed by some lawmakers regarding mismanagement of the communications ministry's affairs, the poor and costly internet services the ministry is offering, and failure to develop the required infrastructure before expanding internet access.
His explanations then were put to a vote, whose results showed he managed to gain the support of only 70 out of a total of 195 lawmakers who cast votes, with 11 abstaining, IRNA reported.
A majority of the voters, 95, said they were not satisfied with the minister's explanations, which brought him a so-called "yellow card".
