In a decree issued on Sunday, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli appointed his deputy for political affairs Mohammad Hossein Moqimi as head of the election headquarters, which is tasked with conducting the parliamentary election and the Assembly of Experts election scheduled to be held on February 26, 2016, IRNA reported.
In the decree, Rahmani Fazli said the interior ministry is determined to make the required arrangements to pave the way for holding “glorious” and “lawful” elections, asking Moqimi to make the preparations necessary to conduct the elections in a secure, calm and lively atmosphere in a way that “preserves the dignity and status of the great and brave Iranian nation and guarantees the rights of electors and candidates… according to the letter of the law.”
