The chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said those encroaching on Yemen will one day regret their "unacceptable" bombing and killing of innocent women and children, likening the raids to Israel's attacks on Gaza.
"I am wondering how those who have carried out such attacks would respond to the public and the Muslim world," Alaeddin Boroujerdi made the remarks in an interview with the Arabic-language Al-Alam news network, ISNA reported on Monday.
It is not possible to break the will of the brave Yemeni nation, who are determined to defend the integrity of their homeland against the threat posed by a foreign incursion, Boroujerdi noted.
Reiterating the foreign ministry official's line that the Yemeni issue is an internal one which can be solved through political means and holding dialogue rather than military intervention, he said Iran will keep on making political efforts to convince its allies to employ their political and international capacities to stop the blatant aggression against the oppressed people of Yemen.
He called on the Saudi government to avoid killing the Yemenis, saying it has been shown throughout history that the Yemenis will not stand idle in the face of a ground offensive.
On the allegations of the Islamic Republic's involvement in Yemen and its efforts to dominate the crisis-hit nation through backing the Houthis, he said, "Such claims are only an excuse used by the ones who have sought to impose their policies on a lively nation."
