In separate meetings with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Sunday, new ambassadors of Algeria, Thailand and Senegal submitted the copies of their credentials, ISNA reported.
In the meeting with the Algerian envoy, Zarif said Iran and Algeria are located in the same region and are faced with similar challenges such as terrorism and extremism.
He also said Tehran is ready to enhance its relations with Algiers in all areas.
In the meeting with the Thai envoy, the foreign minister pointed to the “historical” and “long-lasting” relations between Tehran and Bangkok, noting that expansion of ties with the Southeast Asian country is among Iran’s foreign policy priorities.
In the meeting with the Senegalese envoy, Zarif said Iran enjoys “high potential” to help facilitate the development of African countries, saying in view of Iran’s capabilities, the private sectors of the two sides can increase their cooperation.
