Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Naval Force, said on Tuesday the US "cannot afford to discount" the "strategic" weapons which were tested in the recent naval drill in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, including a new domestically manufactured underwater-to-surface missile, ISNA reported.
He said IRGC forces monitor the region round the clock, adding, "The Americans are not in a position to be able to pose a threat to Iran from the Persian Gulf."
