The spokesperson for the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said the western countries engaged in the nuclear talks lack the required "political will" to reach a nuclear deal with Iran.

"The westerners create obstacles and seek to lead the talks toward a deadlock in some way," Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said in an interview with ISNA on Sunday.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran stresses the continuation of the talks and believes that the only way to reach an agreement is negotiation," he said, noting, "Certainly sanctions, threats and pressure cannot provide a solution to the nuclear issue."

In addition, he said, "We believe that the nuclear dossier is not the westerners' problem and they have other problems with the Islamic Republic. That is why they do not know whether to reach an agreement or not."
