IAEA Visit to Be Arranged After New Year Holidays

The International Atomic Energy Agency has expressed a desire to visit Iran and arrangements for the potential trip is set to be made following the New Year Holidays, according to Iran’s top nuclear chief.
Mohammad Eslami made the remarks on Wednesday on the sidelines of a regular Cabinet meeting, ISNA reported.
The IAEA has called for explanations about uranium particles that it claims have been found at undeclared sites in Iran.
Tehran denies the accusation, saying the safeguards questions are based on fabricated intelligence.
Yet, it provided answers to the agency in June, which the director general dismissed as uncredible.
The IAEA Board of Governors have so far passed two resolutions against the Islamic Republic on this ground, to which Iran has responded by advancing its nuclear activities.
A visit by the agency’s officials was set to take place ahead of the board’s latest quarterly meeting, but was cancelled by Iran due to western countries’ push for a censure motion against the country.
IAEA experts, however, visited Tehran earlier this month for clarification on the outstanding issues and a higher-level trip will possibly be made in January.
