The navy's 33rd fleet comprised of the Bandar Abbas support vessel and the Shahid Qandi frigate, which is bound for Indonesia, recently crossed the equator and entered the Southern Hemisphere, Fars news agency reported on Thursday. The fleet last month set sail for the open seas on a mission to protect the security of shipping lanes, especially for Iranian commercial ships and tankers.
