The emir of Qatar expressed satisfaction at the expansion of relations with Tehran and the implementation of agreements between the two neighbors.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani made the remarks in a telephone conversation with President Ebrahim Raisi to congratulate Eid al-Adha, an Islamic feast marking the culmination of the annual hajj pilgrimage, President.ir reported.
Raisi also gave the Qatari emir and nation good wishes on the occasion of the grand festival, hoping that God would send down his blessings on both Muslim nations on this happy day.
He also highlighted multiple diplomatic meetings between the two countries’ officials in recent months as a sign of strengthening ties.
“These meetings and consultations have a positive effect on the process of implementing bilateral agreements,” he said.
The president had earlier exchanged congratulations on the phone with leaders of several other Muslim countries on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
Speaking to Kais Saied, the president of Tunisia, he expressed Iran’s readiness to expand relations with this Muslim country at both bilateral and international levels.
“We are ready to cooperate in dealing with various issues of the Muslim world, including defense of the Palestinian people’s rights,” he said.
The Tunisian president pointed to good historical relations between the two countries, appreciating Raisi’s efforts to boost the longstanding ties.

Growing Success

Raisi also held a phone conversation with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, where he stressed the need to seriously pursue the execution of agreements reached during his recent visit to Tehran.
He reiterated the Islamic Republic’s continued support of the resistance front, especially that of Syria, referring to the movement against the global arrogance.
“Iran supports peace and stability and opposes any foreign interference in Syria,” he said.
Assad said the enemies are weakening not year by year, but day by day against the resistance movement.
“Iran and Syria are in a single front and I hope we celebrate next year’s Eid al-Adha while our nations are experiencing growing domestic and foreign success,” he said.
The president later talked with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, saying Iran attaches great importance to its relations with Islamabad.
“The current level of ties is not proportional to the various existing capacities,” he said, adding that Iran is ready to expand cooperation and trade, especially in energy and agriculture sectors.
He also said regular meetings of the joint commission for economic cooperation will pave the way for upgrading relations.
Sharif described Tehran-Islamabad ties as beyond neighboring countries, saying the two nations have had brotherly relations for centuries.
He called for convening the joint economic commission at the earliest date, adding that Pakistan is interested in expanding its cooperation with Iran in trade, economy and energy sectors.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent a message of congratulations to Raisi, wishing the Iranian nation and government peace, friendship and success on this religious occasion.
He also said the celebration of Eid al-Adha by 200 million Indians is a symbol of peace and friendship among various religions in India.
Raisi also extended good wishes for the people of India in his reply, stressing the importance of preserving the subcontinent’s historical feature as a land of respect for religious and spiritual beliefs.
