Overnight coronavirus-related mortalities were at a two-year low of only three on Tuesday as the pandemic continued to subside, the Health Ministry announced.
Iran had not reported figures as low as three since the early days of the Covid-19 outbreak in February 2020, ISNA reported.
Only two provinces logged fatalities in the past 24 hours, two of the infected patients died in Tehran and one lost their life in neighboring Alborz. The national death toll rose to just over 141,190 on Tuesday.
All cities have been downgraded to lower threat levels and none are on the coronavirus red alert with the virus seemingly contained.
The success has been largely attributed to high vaccination coverage rates. Majority of Iranians have been inoculated against the contagious disease and vaccine jabs are readily available everywhere in the country.
Some 85% of the population have received two vaccine shots, according to Health Minister Bahram Einollahi, and over 27.2 million have been administered a third booster shot.
All businesses, schools and universities have reopened throughout Iran and cultural centers have also resumed operations. Mask wearing is still mandatory indoors.
Despite the return to normalcy, Covid-19 infections and deaths have remained low in the past few weeks.
