Daily Covid Deaths Rise to Double-Digit Figure

The daily death toll from the Covid-19 pandemic in Iran increased to 12 on Friday after it dropped to a single-digit number for the first time in more than two years.
The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Wednesday indicate that the total deaths from Covid-19 in the country have reached 141,157, as the pandemic has taken the lives of 12 patients over the past 24 hours.
Also, 375 new cases of infection were reported, with 76 of them hospitalized, the ministry said.
More than 6,999,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7,224,000 who have contracted the disease, it said.
Some 950 victims of Covid-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.
The ministry also said that over 64.35 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.59 million have received the second dosage, and more than 27.105 million have gotten the booster shots.
