Leader Declares General Policies on Social Security

In a decree on Sunday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei declared the general policies on social security with the aim of enhancing people’s welfare, eradicating poverty, protecting vulnerable social groups, among other objectives. 
On the Leader’s order, the government and parliament are obligated to mobilize all relevant organizations to work out a comprehensive plan, including preparation of bills, ratification of laws and formulation of executive actions, within a six-month time framework, to ensure the implementation of the general policies on social security, according to Leader.ir.
The general policies include establishing a comprehensive, integrated, transparent, efficient, inclusive and multi-layer social security system, creating a specialized mechanism to organize affairs, set unified procedures and oversee relevant institutions and funds, upholding rights of all generations through avoiding financially imprudent projects, exploiting sustainable financial resources and improving the value of assets held by social insurance organizations and funds, reforming laws and mechanisms to ensure fair practice and prevent accumulation of state debts to insurance organizations, making efforts to achieve lofty goals of promoting social just and ending discrimination in access to public resources, reduce economic inequality and expand provision of social security services to all social classes, setting up a national system on charities and linking NGOs and relevant state institutions, and providing the required services to strengthen the foundation of families.
