Former British ambassador to the United Nations David Hannay described the position taken by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on nuclear talks as positive, noting that his support for the negotiations is greatly welcomed by the parties to the negotiations.
In an interview with IRNA published on Saturday, Hannay said Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s recent comments about the talks between Iran and the major powers on a final deal to resolve the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program were completely appropriate.
The Leader on Feb. 8 said he backs the continuation of the negotiations and called for a “single-stage” and “detailed” agreement which would serve interests of all parties.
In addition, the British diplomat said clarification of some ambiguities about the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities would lead to settlement of the remaining disagreements between the negotiating parties.
