Interaction With Neighbors, Allies Highlighted

President Ebrahim Raisi told foreign diplomats on Thursday that having maximum interaction with neighbors, allies and like-minded states are among his foreign policy priorities.
Raisi made the remarks during his meeting with foreign ambassadors in Tehran on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the1979 Islamic Revolution, according to President.ir. 
“Since taking office in August 2021, my administration has taken good steps to these ends,” he said, adding the past few months have shown his administration’s sincerity and determination to strengthen friendly relations and interactions with neighbors and other international partners.
“We are making efforts to open a new chapter in the country’s bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly in the immediate region, in line with the new diplomatic approach and in order to ensure regional and transregional security and stability and meet bilateral needs.”
Raisi highlighted Iran’s 25-year comprehensive cooperation plan with China, agenda for signing a similar treaty with Russia, fostered collaborations with the Eurasian Economic Union, and permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
“We have also taken effective steps toward improving ties with all neighbors and prepared the ground for expanding cooperation with them by developing the country’s ports and transit corridors.”
