Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need to take the offensive against the enemies’ “combination attacks” which involve economic, political, security, media and diplomatic spheres.
“Against this combination and collective assault, we cannot always stay on the defensive and we need to launch combination attacks as well in different arenas including media, security and economy,” he said on Tuesday in an address to a number of Air Force commanders and staff on the anniversary of Air Force commanders’ pledging of allegiance with Imam Khomeini in 1979, Leader.ir reported.
Highlighting the growing role of media in today’s world, the Leader said a definite policy of platforms hostile to Islam and Iran is to “distort realities by using professional lies.”
They deny the developments and positive points of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and overstate weaknesses by hundreds of times, he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei also underlined the western powers’ “media dictatorship” despite their claims of freedom of speech, which is exhibited in such acts as elimination from cyberspace of the name and picture of Martyr Qasem Soleimani, a top anti-terrorist commander who was brutally assassinated by the United States.
He said against such media attack, it is a definite and urgent duty to launch what he described as “jihad of elaboration”.
“Against this bitter reality, it the duty of everyone, especially directors of state television and owners of various media platforms, to come to the scene and offer a correct narrative of the developments and great services of the revolution,” he said.
He regretted that the great and epic achievements over the past decades have not been reflected in the country’s media as they should have been due to negligence.
“We must not let some economic and livelihood problems cover these epic achievements and progresses in dust, making them invisible to the public eye and pushing them into oblivion.”
The Leader said the enemies’ calculations will turn out to be incorrect if forces on the rightful Islamic front put in active, effective and hopeful work and refuse to fear the superficial grandeur of the opposing side.
The growing progress of the country against enemies’ wishes bodes well for a better future for the country, according to Ayatollah Khamenei.
“As the Islamic Republic has moved forward strongly over these 43 years and has become stronger and more deeply-rooted, this course will hopefully continue in the future, making the enemies frustrated again.”
