Response to WSJ Claim

ISNA on Saturday wrote an article on a report by the Wall Street Journal claiming that the Leader of the Islamic Revolution had written to US President Barack Obama in recent weeks in response to a letter sent in October.
ISNA said, “The Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s response to the US president’s letter is not a new event and reportedly the Leader had replied to Obama’s letter at that time (when the letter was received) respectfully and explicitly.”
Citing an unnamed Iranian diplomat, the Wall Street Journal claimed that Obama’s letter suggested the possibility of US-Iranian cooperation in fighting the so-called Islamic State terrorist group if a nuclear deal was secured.
In addition, the diplomat allegedly said the Leader’s letter was “respectful” but noncommittal.
